Show jumping competitions are certainly something, they’re so frenetic and everyone’s is always very excited, the most wonderful thing is, without any doubt, watching riders exit the arena with a grin on their faces after doing a fantastic course. You can see horses all around, stressed people, relieved people, happy riders and sad ones. It is a fantastic mix of emotions, competitiveness and animal; I just can't get enough of it!
The most messy part about competitions is definitely the warm up arena, there are a lot of horses jumping, galloping and trotting there and I always end up bumping into someone, so I have to be very focused because if not, I could fall (I once fell twice on the same day in the warm up arena, that was quiet an interesting day...).
This events usually last about three days, in some of them the points are accumulative, but in most of them, each day is a different competition, in this kind of competitions, they give a price to the three fastest riders who had less penalizations. Winning is difficult, but that is why it is amazing and completely rewarding.
Show jumping competitions are very fun, and you could never possibly get bored there, even if you are not competing, because there are loads of things to do and you never get tired of watching people’s courses, because they are all so different due to the huge range of horses that participate. I really recommend going to these kind of events.
