Indoor football

My experience in this sport

It is common to listen to people, mainly those who practice soccer, saying things like "indoor football is a variant of football, indoor football is football for lazy people, indoor football is only played by football renegades... "etc.

I speak from the experience (I have been a football player for 6 years and futsal player for 9 years) when I say that all the things above are not just a lie, they are also the result of ignorance.
I understand that some people do not like futsal, because that is subjective of each one, but from there to say that "it is a variant of football" ... It is true that futsal shares certain aspects with football: you play them with a ball, you kick it with your foot and you have to score goals. That is it. You could also say that they share that tension, that passion proper to both sports; but I think that in futsal this passion is greater.

Futsal differs from football mainly in that the field is much smaller. This aspect is what makes me love this sport, and it's not because I do not like to run, it´s just the opposite. As the field is so small, the game is faster and it is much more intense than in football. This also makes it more direct, with more attemps and therefore more interesting. In addition, you have to be running constantly, which means that you have to be resting quite often during a match; while in football you play at a lower intensity but for a longer period of time which, in my opinion, makes it more monotonous. So they are totally different.

It is true that there is a greater number of football players than indoor football players, which means that it has a lower level. But, as in football, in the highest indoor football categories there is a very high level and you can completely enjoy this sport. I am currently playing for Vigo 2015 in the Galician Honor Division, the highest league in my category and in which there are great players from the best teams in Galicia, which are even players with a professional contract.

As I mentioned, I have practiced both sports for a long time and, although at times I have preferred football, I have finally opted for futsal, because what I feel in a futsal field I do not feel it anywhere else.
